二零零七年畢業於香港演藝學院電視電影學院。隨後投身獨立電影，並開始參與硬照攝影工作。現職於政府新聞處攝影分組。
Hugo Lam graduated at the School of Film and TV in HKAPA in 2007 and started engaging in independent film and still photography. He is now working in Photo Section in Information Service Department of HKSAR.

攝影機是中立的，無論是已形成過億年的岩石，還是瞬間出現的閃電，攝影機都是一視同仁地把它紀錄下來。然而，我們卻執意追尋那些自以為可一不可再，此生一遇的影像，將所謂重要的時刻留住。如政權移交，簽約，開幕禮，嬰兒出生，生日，畢業，結婚等所謂大事都通通拍攝下來，以見證我們的存在，在世界上留下痕跡。其實，我們日常生活也到處留痕，一樣是彷彿轉眼就不存在，謹以我留下的痕跡證明我存在過。
The evidence of existence
The camera has no preference, it captures all images regardless of whether it is a hundred million year-old rock or an instant lightning. However, we insist on capturing those so-called important moments in our lives to prove our existence, to tell everyone that “We have been there!” or “We are here!” Actually, there are so many clues in our daily life to prove that we are living. But photos seem to be the only evidence of our existence.
